  My old Android device is still showing the thumbnail for the old video but will not play it. It says to import the new file. It will be interesting to see if we get the announcement this week. Surprisingly this announcement was not included on the August Announcements and Reminders.

  has anyone got any good 'jws and alcohol' stories?

  i always found it amazing that so many jws got blind drunk at parties and got away with it!

  i suppose alcohol was the only fun thing we were allowed to partake in....

  Not former, I think in England, you can legally drink at age 16.

  The legal age for buying and/or consuming alcohol in the UK is 18. Obviously you can drink in private or at a party at any age if you can get an adult to buy it for you.

  One called Greenleaves

  It's actually Greenlees. The family originated from Glasgow in Scotland, very wealthy and owned a string of shoe shops. Pioneers got a free pair every year. I think they moved to Canada where young Leo grew up.

  "A Governing Body as Different from a Legal Corporation (Watchtower December 15,1971)

  ON Friday morning, October 1, 1971, the legal corporation known as Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania held its annual corporation meeting, this time in the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses at Buckingham, Pennsylvania. All seven members of the Board of Directors of said Society attended and had a part in the program presented. The membership of this Society is limited to five hundred at the most, there being at present four hundred and fifty such members throughout the earth. Many of these members attended this annual corporation meeting in person, still more by means of proxy. All together, 2,076 attended this corporation meeting, doubtless all of them being interested Christian witnesses of Jehovah.

  At this meeting a question came up and was discussed from the platform. It was as to what the relationship is between the Board of Directors of the Society as a legal corporation and the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Christian witnesses. Are they the same, identical, or are they different? Such questions were due to the fact that it has been published in print that the Governing Body of Jehovah’s witnesses at headquarters is associated with the Board of Directors of the said Society. How did this come about, and does this make the Board of Directors the same as the Governing Body of Jehovah’s witnesses all the earth around?"

  The entire article is worth reading. It took until 2000 for Milton Henschel to resign his position as President and hand over to a non-anointed one. They have spent the last 23 years clawing back all control.

  Raymond Franz resigned as he realised a lot of what was being taught was simply wrong. A few years later he was disfellowshipped. He wrote two books the only one I have read is "Crisis of Conscience" which is a real eye-opener. You can download a copy I believe.

  The other two batted for the other team, there is plenty about them on this site.

  I read on here some time ago that when it was announced that AM III was no longer a member of the GB, all his Morning Worship videos were removed along with others he featured in.

  I have just logged on to the website and entered Anthony Morris in the search facility and there are at least two dozen videos of him still there, most look like Morning Worship but also AGM videos etc.

  Doesn't seem like he is in quite the bad books some had imagined.
